Jam with the pros at Lagond Music School’s The Haven
Jam with the pros at Lagond Music School’s The Haven: Looking to stretch your musical chops beyond your mommy or daddy band? Now you can jam with the pros and other local musicians at Lagond Music School’s performance space, The Haven.
Lagond Music School recently introduced weekly jam nights for adult musicians of all levels (18+) on their fully equipped soundstages in Elmsford. “These weekly jam nights are a perfect way for local musicians to congregate, meet other musicians and share a musical bond,” Musical Director Charlie Lagond points out. “Our goal is to cultivate a musical haven for anyone who wants to express their love for music and their dedication to furthering their skills.”
Each session spotlights a different genre and well-known guest musicians. Anyone with a desire to play can join the jam on stage and sit in with peers as well as have an opportunity to meet and play with professional musicians.
The June lineup includes a rock and jam band night with Andy Aledort on Sunday June 11. A Senior Editor at Guitar World, Andy has performed in a series of Jimi Hendrix Tribute concerts where he was joined onstage with legendary bluesman Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana and Hendrix’s Band of Gypsy’s rhythm section Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell.

And groove-master of the Hammond B3 organ, Jerry Z will lead a Funk and Soul jam, on June 25. Jerry Z performs with the Jerry Z Organ Trio and the Oz Noy Boogaloo Experience Band that performs at Iridium in NYC.
“The music community is diverse and thriving here in Westchester and surrounding counties.” Executive Director and cofounder Rosanne Lana notes. “It’s only natural then that we open our doors not only to students, but also to local musicians and other music enthusiasts who would like to take advantage of this wonderful facility and use it as a resource.”
