Paula Poundstone, Tarrytown Music Hall – Fri, 6/1: 8pm: Number 88 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time, Poundstone was the first female comedienne to win a CableAce Award for her HBO Special Cats, Cops and Stuff. She followed up with another HBO special Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard and a Bravo special Paula Poundstone: Look What The Cat Dragged In. Lisa Lampanelli, Paramount Hudson Valley – Fri, 6/1: 8pm: Lampanelli has five TV Comedy Specials to her name a Grammy-nom for Best Comedy Album for her 2015 Back to the Drawing Board. Harper Collins published her autobiography Chocolate Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks. Her 2016 play at NY’s WP Theatre was praised by The New York Timesand The Hollywood Reporter. Howie Mandel, Ridgefield Playhouse – Thurs, 6/14: 8pm: You may know him as a judge on America’s Got Talent or as a game show host where he has helmed Deal or No Deal and Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me. But Howie Mandel got his start in stand up and has never stopped. And his Latex Glove routine has achieved legendary status in the world of stand up comedy. (80 E. David Cross, “Oh Come On”, Capitol Theatre – Fri, 6/15: 8pm: One of Comedy Central’s Top Comedians of All Time, David Cross is well known for his role as Tobias Funke in the sitcom Arrested Development. He also starred in the motion picture Alvin and the Chipmunks and was the voice of Crane in Kung Fu Panda. Following his hit tour, Making America Great Again, he brings his new show to the Capitol. Gary Gulman, Ridgefield Playhouse – Fri, 6/22: 8pm: Gary Gulman is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late night program. He has released four comedy albums and two of his hour-long specials, “It’s About Time” and “In This Economy,” are currently on Netflix. Josh Blue, Paramount Hudson Valley – Sat, 6/30: 8pm: Perhaps best know as the comedian who puts cerebralin Cerebral Palsy, Blue’s self-deprecating humor often centers around his disability. He was a winner on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and was the first comic to debut a stand-up special on the big screen with his 7 Days in the Tank. An Evening with Robert Klein, Chappaqua Performing Arts Center – Sat, 6/30: 8pm: Klein came in at #28 on Rolling Stone’s list of Best Comedians of All Time. His 1975 An Evening With Robert Klein was named the 10th best Comedy Special of all time by Rolling Stone and his breakthrough album Child of the Fifties was name Spin Magazine’s 28th best comedy album of all time. His iconic bit on public school A-Bomb drills “Civil Defense (No talking!)” is one of the most memorable comedy bits (for baby-boomers) of all time. Lo Hud Comedy, Schoolhouse Theater, Fri., 7/27: 8pm: Comics from Letterman, Comedy Central, The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, and more take this stage in this ongoing series of stand-up comedy nights at The Schoolhouse Theater in Croton Falls. Adam Oliensis, a Daily Show vet, who wrote produced and starred opposite Jon Cryer in the indie-flick The Pompatus of Love headlines the evening. Jay Mohr, Ridgefield Playhouse – Fri, 8/3: 8pm: Comedian, actor, radio host and best-selling author, Jay Mohr has been performing stand-up comedy since he was sixteen years old. After landing his dream job of Saturday Night Live, and launching his career with Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire, he appeared in over 200 episodes of network television and over 25 feature films working with a plethora of Academy Award-winning actors, including Christopher Walken, Rene Zellwegger, Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie, Cuba Gooding Jr, Ellen Burstyn, Kim Bassinger, Matt Damon, and Clint Eastwood. Randy Rainbow, Tarrytown Music Hall – Sun, 8/5: 8pm: Political satirist and internet sensation, Randy Rainbow is best known for his musical tribute to the first presidential debate of 2016, Braggadocious, that received 28 million views on YouTube in its first two days. An Evening With Groucho, Paramount Hudson Valley – Sun, 9/9: 7pm: Award-winning actor and Director Frank Ferrante recreates his PBS, New York and London acclaimed portrayal of Groucho Marx in this 9o minute two-act comedy. The show draws in the likes of Charley Chaplin, WC Fields, Margaret Dumont, Louis B. Mayer and his brothers.
