Hudson Valley Shakespeare 2025 Summer Season
Tickets are on sale for Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s summer season that, in a departure from past seasons will feature two non-Bard productions. Flying solo for the Elizabethan era, and opening the season on June 6, is Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. This madcap prodctoin loaded with Bardian wit and a fair amount of slapstick, follows two sets of identical twins separated at birth, and captures that certain kind of heartache that comes from searching for one’s soulmate in an upside down world. The play will run in repertory for 26 shows through August 2.

Thornton Wilder’s comic masterpiece The Matchmaker will run for 27 big boisterous shows in tandem with The Comedy of Errors from June 8 to August 3. Set between a sleepy Hudson River town and the bustling metropolis of New York City in the 1880’s, you may recognize Wilder’s narrative reflected in the hit Broadway musical Hello Dolly—which it inspired.
In August, Hudson Valley Shakespeare will produce the first revival of the Off-Broadway musical Octet that won the 2020 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding New Musical. From the pen of the celebrated author of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Octet examines the everyday anxieties we feel about the impact of technology on our lives. It will run for 27 shows from October 11 to September 7. Finally, in another new twist, Hudson Valley Shakespeare presents it first Cabaret Week, wherein The Valley Restaurant will be turned into a cabaret for four intimate dinnertime performances from August 6 through 8..
