Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus presents Legends – Prudential Center: It’s circus time as Ringling Brothers new show delivers the circus masters, majestic animals, exotic performers and daredevils to “dazzle the senses” and “redefine your sense of possibility.” Wed-Sun, 3/9-13: check times. Wild Kratts Live – The Palace Stamford: The animated Kratt Brothers, Martin and Chris, “come to real life” in a classically Wild Kratts story. It’s off “To the Creature Rescue!” when the Kratt Brothers activate some fan favorite Creature Power Suits to confront a comic villain. Through hilarious pratfalls and amazing animal ‘wow facts’ the Wild Kratts team rescue their favorite invention from Zach’s clutches so the animals of the creature world are safe once again. Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy – Tarrytown Music Hall: In this new musical, inspired by the New York Times best-selling Children’s Books, Lulu is disappointed that she is too little to play baseball with her big brother. She grabs her trusty sidekick, Bingo, the family dog, and goes off to the park where she meets her friends, Sam, Marley and Kiki. They morph into the Bug Squad as Ladybug Girl, Bumblebee Boy, Dragonfly Girl and Butterfly Girl to fight the Mean Alien…or is that Lulu’s brother? Sat, 3/12: 2pm. Room on the Broom – Emelin Theatre: In this Tall Stories production, adapted from the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo, a witch and her cat fly happily on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand. So begins this “high-energy treat” (NYT) filled with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3 and up. “Children’s theatre doesn’t come much better than this.” – The Stage. Piff the Magic Dragon – Paramount Hudson Valley: A finalist from season 10 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Larry David in a dragon suit with his Chihuahua friend Mr. Piffles performs jaw-dropping magic tricks. With over 12 million YouTube hits, Piff has performed at Radio City Music Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe and the London and Sydney Opera House. Sun, 3/20: 7pm. Peter and the Wolf – Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium: Curiosity Concerts presents the woodwind quintet of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. This fully staged vaudeville-inspired performance from Really Inventive Stuff features a solo performance from actor Michael Boudewyns. The program also features selections from Disney and Harry Potter films and a movement of Jacques Ibert’s woodwind quintet “Trois Pièces Brèves. Tickets are free but reservations are required. Moon Mouse – The Palace Stamford: Follow Marvin the mouse in this Lightwire Theater production, as his quest to be popular with the cool kids takes him on a heroic cosmic adventure to the moon in a homemade rocket ship where he meets strange creatures, learns of infinite peril and experiences awesome beauty. A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Paramount Hudson Valley: The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s Conservatory Company takes on the bard’s madcap comedy where three stories involving four young lovers, a jealous fairy king and his queen, and a group of amateur actors collide in the woods on a summer eve. Phenomenal Physics with Mr. Fish – The Palace Stamford: Mr. Fish proves that science can be fun by performing circus tricks involving boomerangs, bubbles, bullwhips, balloons, eggs and more. Kids discover the concepts of friction, velocity and inertia when Mr. Fish pulls a tablecloth out from under various objects, juggles eggs to explain the structure of Roman arches and flies boomerangs to demonstrate the principles of aerodynamics. Sesame Street Live: Let’s Dance – Palace Theatre: This Sesame Street production offers an up-close, interactive experience when your favorite Sesame Street friends join you on the floor to dance to the music. On stage, Elmo uses his imagination to “Do the Robot”, Cookie Monster teaches all ‘feets’ to dance, and Ernie shares the fun of dance with the Sesame Street favorite “Shake Your Head One Time”. Seussical the Musical – Ridgefield Playhouse: Adapted from the Broadway version, this adaptation of Seussical for young audiences from TheatreWorks USA features thirteen actors and enhanced production values. The Cat in the Hat is your host, emcee, and all-around mischief-maker in this romp through the Seuss classics featuring the good-natured elephant Horton, JoJo, an imaginative young Who, the one-feathered bird, Miss Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Maysie La Bird and other Dr. Seuss favorites in an adventure to save the planet of Who. Disney Live! Mickey & Minnie’s Doorway to Magic – County Center: Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy and 25 Disney characters put on a magic show Disney style. Disney’s Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve – Paramount Hudson Valley: The Disney Channel’s Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve! TV program comes to life on the stage with Genevieve the train conductor and DC her beat boxing, breakdancing engineer. Cinderella – Connecticut Ballet: The Connecticut Ballet’s 34^th season closes with a revival of Brett Raphael’s full-length production of Cinderella set to the Prokofiev score. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood – The Palace Stamford: The legacy of “Mister Rogers Neighborhood” lives on with the award- winning television series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on PBS KIDS. In this live show, Daniel dons his iconic red sweater and invites the audience on an interactive musical adventure to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. In February 2015, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood was the #2 program across all TV networks for Kids 2-5.
