Ridgefield Drive In Movies
Ridgefield Drive In Movies: The Ridgefield Playhouse in coordination with Craig’s Fine Jewelry of Ridgefield has launched a drive in movie series every Saturday night in June at 9pm. The movies will be shown in the Ridgefield High School parking lot. All of the films are FREE and will be on a first-come, first-served basis (Lot opens at 8pm) Audio will be available through your car radio.
To maintain social distancing, all cars will be pulling into every other spot to keep space between each car. All cars must enter the Ridgefield High School parking lot off Route 116. Per the Governors Executive order, all moviegoers must stay in their cars (except to use rest rooms) as any outdoor event with people gathering together outside is permissible for 50 people or less.
Saturday, June 6 @ 9pm: “Legally Blonde” – Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has it all. She wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. But there is one thing stopping him (Matthew Davis) from proposing: She is too blonde. Elle rallies all of her resources and gets into Harvard, determined to win him back. While she is there, she figures out that there is more to her than just looks. Sponsored by Fairfield Community Bank.
Saturday, Jun 13 @ 9pm: “Dirty Dancing” – Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of

Welcome to the singing and dancing world of “Grease,” the most successful movie musical of all time. A wholesome exchange student (Olivia Newton-John) and a leather-clad Danny (John Travolta) have a summer romance, but will it cross clique lines. Sponsored by The Ridgefield Playhouse.

Saturday, Jun 27: 9pm: Field of Dreams – When Iowa farmer Ray (Kevin Costner) hears a mysterious voice one night in his cornfield saying “If you build it, he will come,” he
feels the need to act. Despite taunts of lunacy, Ray builds a baseball diamond on his land, supported by his wife, Annie (Amy Madigan). Afterward, the ghosts of great players start emerging from the crops to play ball, led by “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. - Lot opens at 8pm | Movies start at 9pm (Use Route 116 entrance – Ridgebury Road will be blocked off.)
- We will be limiting the number of cars on the premises each night. Do not use any spaces blocked off with cones.
- Please stay in your vehicle except to use the restrooms.
- Everyone must wear masks if outside of their car.
- Portable toilets are in the back of the lot by the basketball courts. Each toilet will have a hand washing station with hand sanitizer.
- RECYCLE AND TRASH RECEPTACLES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE! Please take any trash with you when you leave.
